Woman rescued from Tay after driver spots her in water

A crowd of onlookers watched as a woman was rescued from the River Tay in Perth. The woman was spotted in the water by a passing motorist who stopped her car and then contacted the emergency services.
Police officers threw a life ring to the woman, which she was able to catch. She was then brought ashore and taken to hospital for treatment.
Her injuries are not said to be life threatening.
The incident occurred around 9pm on Monday, with dozens of people watching the rescue unfold.
The rail bridge across the river was closed while members of the emergency services worked to pull the woman from the Tay.
