Fire crews were called out to Strathmartine Hospital on Tuesday night, less than two months after the derelict building was almost completely destroyed in a blaze.
A spokeswoman for Scottish Fire and Rescue said there had been a small fire on the grounds of the hospital but the building itself was untouched.
Several nearby residents said they saw several plumes of smoke rising from the hospital grounds shortly after 7pm.
Earlier in the evening firefighters were called to a blaze in Burrelton when a digger caught fire.
A Scottish Fire Service spokesman stated the digger belonged to Smith and Sons Coaches.
The alarm was raised just after 6.30pm. Two appliances attended the village, with one main jet and two breathing apparatus used to extinguish the fire.
The blaze was extinguished around 7.30pm.
Firefighters in Fife were also in action, rescuing a casualty from a fire of a first-floor flat in Lochgelly.
