A prison transport vehicle was caught up in a crash involving two lorries this morning on the A90, near to the Bullionfield petrol station at Invergowrie.
Ambulance crews gave medical checks to prisoners in their cells before being allowed to continue on their way to Perth Prison.
It’s understood that they had appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court earlier in the day.
Security firm G4S said they had escaped injury.
The Scottish Ambulance Service did, however, transport three injured people to Ninewells Hospital. Their injuries are not thought to be serious.
One lane was closed for a short time following the crash.
The accident followedan earlier incident in the area this morning, when a lorry breakdown caused long delays for commuters heading into Dundee.
