Orange Order procession passes through Perth without a hitch
ByThe Courier Reporter
A Scottish Orange Order procession through Perth, which was nearly toppled by a legal row, passed without incident on Saturday morning.
Around 60 people joined the St Andrew’s True Blues parade, to commemorate the Battle of the Boyne.
It was led by the Castlemilk Flute Band and a police escort.
The walk, from Tulloch Park to the Cameronian monument, nearly didn’t happen after Perth and Kinross Council refused to pay for a temporary traffic regulations order.
The row was settled after further talks.
