Two arrested months after Perthshire hotel’s bid to track down non-payers

Police have arrested two people after a couple who enjoyed a romantic Valentine’s Day break at a luxury Perthshire hotel left without paying their bill.
A probe was launched after a pair checked into Crieff’s Knock Castle where rooms cost up to £300 a night on February 13.
They were due to leave on the Monday morning but fled the hotel a day early without settling their bill.
When hotel owner Jason Henderson posted images of the pair on Facebook it went viral, with tens of thousands of views and shares.
Almost five months later officers investigating the incident have made have two arrests.
“Police Scotland can confirm that a 29-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman have been charged and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal,” a spokeswoman said.
It is not known when the pair will appear at court.
