First campers arrive at Strathallan for T in the Park

Hundreds of campers have started arriving at Strathallan Castle for the T in the Park music festival.

Some revellers hoping for an early arrival at the site were delayed due to a broken down bus between Muthill and Strathallan, leading police to appeal for patience. However the vehicle was removed shortly afterwards.

Police have also warned that sniffer dogs will be active at the site, urging revellers to make use of amnesty bins at the entrance.

Despite fears that the increased traffic could snarl up the rural roads in the area traffic was reported to be moving well.

One motorist approaching the site said: “The traffic going out to Auchterarder is no problem at all.

“The only delay is when you are getting right up to the Strathallan Estate itself I’ve probably done two miles in the last 40 minutes.”

Headline acts for the 2015 festival are The Libertines, Kasabian and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.

Other acts include Avicii, Hozier, Sam Smith, The Vaccines, and Twin Atlantic.
