Hundreds of hardy volunteers battled through a Royal Marines-designed obstacle course yesterday as part of a packed weekend of fun and games across Perthshire.
The Lanrick Challenge took place on the outskirts of Doune and saw teams race over six and 12km courses.
The event was established last summer by Penny and Aly Dickson, who founded the Sandpiper Trust after their son Sandy tragically drowned, aged 14.
Money made from the event will be split between the trust, Help Our Wounded Royal Marines and Supporting Arms.
Meanwhile, the somewhat moretranquil Kinross Show drew thousands of visitors to the RSPB’s Loch Leven site on Saturday.
This year’s main ringside entertainment included terrier racing, a vintage tractor display and children’s fancy dress parade. Music came from the Kinross and District Pipe Band.
Also on Saturday, Burrelton hosted its market on the green event, drawing hundreds of visitors to Perthshire.
Proceeds will go towards the community’s village hall refurbishment programme.
