Major delays after van and lorry collide on A90 at Glencarse
ByJamie Buchan
A collision between a van and a lorry on the A90 near Glencarse caused major tailbacks on Monday.
Such were the queues of traffic that motorists were at a standstill at Glendoick, many miles up the road.
Despite almost the whole side panel being ripped off the van the driver escaped unhurt.
The crash happened at 2.20pm and the road was finally cleared around 6pm.
A spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed they had attended at the scene.
“We sent an ambulance and a manager to the slip road near Glencarse,” he said.”No one was taken to hospital so they couldn’t have been seriously injured.”
A spokesman for BEAR Scotland said they attended the scene and assisted the police where required.
Elsewhere, three people were taken to hospital following a three-vehicle accident on the A82 between Tyndrum and Crianlarich.
One person was transported to Queen Margaret University Hospital in Glasgow by helicopter.
As a result of the accident, the road north of Crianlarich was closed in both directions leading to a 50-mile diversion.
