Officers targeted the homes of suspected dealers in the town centre this morning as part of an operation to stem the local drugs trade. It follows intelligence gathered by Tayside Police which suggests a worrying rise in heroin trafficking in the town. The Courier was invited along to this morning’s raids, which focussed on a members of the same family. Officers in riot gear used a hydraulic battering ram to smash their way into a suspect’s home. The first floor flat was empty, but an initial sweep found empty paper wraps with traces of suspicious white power. A stash of mobile phones was also uncovered.
