A nurse who was caught more than four times the legal limit for driving at T in the Park has been fined £700 at Perth Sheriff Court.
The court heard that Joanne Nolan, 24, of Egremont, Cumbria, had attended the festival but decided to move her Alfa Romeo 500 feet to be nearer an exit when the music finished.
However, a security guard thought her car was “swerving” and she was driving “erratically” at around 8.20pm.
“The accused was stopped and when the accused got out she was unsteady on her feet and smelled of alcohol,” depute fiscal Bill Kermode said.
“Police were contacted and at 9.45pm, officers found the accused to be unsteady on her feet and she gave a positive breath test.”
Nolan’s solicitor told the court his client is a nurse who works at a hospital in Newcastle.
He said the court appearance was a “matter of deep regret and embarrassment” for Nolan.
“My client foolishly decided to mover her car 500 feet to get away from traffic difficulties after the festival finished,” he said.
“The loss of her licence will cause an inconvenience for her commuting to work and there is the potential for her to lose her job as a result.”
Nolan admitted that on July 12 at the T in the Park music festival, Strathallan Estate, Auchterarder, she drove with 92 mics. The limit is 22 mics.
In addition, Nolan was banned from driving for 28 months.
