A pensioner kicked his wife and threw a cup of tea over her before storming out of his home and driving off drunk in a Transit van.
Henry Smith, 73, attacked his wife of more than 50 years after claiming he was fed up with her telling him what to do.
Smith, of Mitchell Street, Crieff, appeared at Perth Sheriff Court on Thursday and admitted assaulting Annabella Smith by throwing tea at her and kicking her on the leg at their home on April 30 this year. He also admitted drink-driving on the town’s Glenturret Road.
He was banned from driving for 16 months, fined £600 and told he would have to resit the extended driving test.
