The fast-disappearing way of life of a nomadic tribe who have roamed the Sahara desert for the past 1,000 years is captured in an exhibition that opens in Perth today.
Through images taken by photographer Henrietta Butler and loaned artefacts, the exhibition in the Fair Maid’s House tells the story of the Tuareg tribe, who have been dubbed “the mysterious people of the veil”.
The way of life of the nomads survives, despite the challenges of the 21st Century, and is celebrated in the exhibition.
Hosted by the Royal Scottish Geographical Society (RSGS), it runs until September 26, Tuesday to Saturday, 1pm to 4.30pm.
