A director of a national farming society has appeared in court in Perth to face an allegation of stalking his former partner for more than six months.
James Woodward, 49, is alleged to have watched the woman’s home and bombarded her with texts, voicemails and emails.
He is also alleged to have approached companies in a bid to carry out fundraising efforts on her behalf and without her permission.
Woodward a director of the Scottish National Fat Stock Club is further accused of pestering his former girlfriend by sending her notes and flowers and trying to rekindle their relationship.
Woodward, who was farm manager of the Ballathie estate in Perthshire, is also alleged to have waged the stalking campaign from behind bars in Perth Prison.
He appeared in private on a petition alleging he stalked the woman at her Perth home and from prison between February 27 and September 1 this year.
Woodward, of Perth Road, Stanley, made no plea or declaration and was granted bail while the case was continued for further examination.
Special conditions of bail not to approach the complainer or enter Meikleour village were imposed.
The Crown was granted leave to appeal against the granting of bail.
