And again! Another lorry driver takes on the flooded and closed road between Coupar Angus and Blairgowrie

A fresh warning has been issued after a brazen lorry driver was caught on camera sailing through a flooded Perthshire road.

The Bestpets delivery truck battled through several feet of water on the closed A923 between Coupar Angus and Blairgowrie just after 1.30pm.

He drove past an abandoned car which has been left at the verge for nearly a week after its driver had to be rescued by emergency services.

On Tuesday, The Courier reported that a driver from the Encon insulation firm also tried and failed to get through the stretch.

A Perth and Kinross Council spokeswoman said: “This is a closed road. Road closures are in place for safety reasons and we would urge drivers not to drive past road closed signs or attempt to forge flooded sections of road.

“During the last period of flooding earlier in the week, Police Scotland were called to over 20 flood-related incidents, mainly of drivers stuck in flood waters which could easily have been avoided by obeying road signs.”
