Accident and roadworks cause chaotic morning for traffic around Perth
ByPaul Reoch
A series of incidents on roads in Perth and Kinross caused chaos for motorists this morning, with some drivers delayed for over 40 minutes.
On what has been the coldest day of the year so far, a two-car accident around 7.15am on the northbound section of the A90 near Errol led to long queues of traffic stretching back to Kinfauns.
A spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed that an ambulance took a person to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.
Elsewhere, traffic travelling northbound on the M90 Inverkeithing to Perth motorway had to contend with massive queues due to roadworks, with the two lanes narrowing to a single lane just before Milnathort.
Many motorists were delayed for up to 20 minutes.
The situation was compounded by delays north of the Broxden roundabout at Perth caused by roadworks on the A85 overbridge over the A9 road.
