Armed robber makes off with four-figure sum of cash from Perth newsagent

Police in Perth are hunting an armed robber who held up staff at a Rannoch Road newsagent and made off with a four-figure sum of cash.
The raider targeted the RS McColl branch on Monday evening.
Police said he threatened a 44-year-old staff member with a weapon before fleeing with cash from the till.
The assistant was shocked, but unhurt.
A force spokeswoman said: “The suspect is described as aged late 40s to early 50s, approximately five feet 10 inches in height and was wearing a grey hooded top with the hood up. He had a light denim-style jacket and also wore dark coloured jogging bottoms.
“His face was covered with a beige or grey coloured scarf.”
Police are carrying out door-to-door enquiries and are trawling through the shop’s CCTV footage. The incident happened at about 6.45pm.
