Novelist Rosamunde Pilcher’s Perthshire home on the market

The Carse of Gowrie home of novelist Rosamunde Pilcher has gone up for sale.

Over Pilmore House was built by the writer in Invergowrie, near Dundee, and mirrors properties in her native Cornwall by having a blue painted roof.

The house has a large garage and stables, as well as a heated swimming pool, tennis court with an all-weather surface, large paddock and its own orchard.

Included in the sale is planning permission for another house nearby.

The property is on the market for offers over £895,000.

Selling agents CKD Galbraith describe the six-bedroom home as “full of charm and character”.

Their brochure for the property said: “There are many delightful features including stripped wooden floors and open fireplaces.
