Bake Off stars Flora Shedden and Frances Quinn united on stage in Perthshire on Friday night.
Flora, from Dunkeld, joined the series one winner at Pitlochry’s Winter Words Festival to share some top tips and culinary secrets.
The rare joint appearance to discuss Frances’ new book Quintessential Baking was one of the many highlights at this year’s literary celebration.
The event, now in its 12th year, boasted talks from among others actor Gregor Fisher and Emma Darwin, great-great-grand daughter of explorer Charles Darwin.
Flora, who was a runner-up in last year’s Great British Bake Off show, gave her backing to WWF campaign Earth Hour, which encourages people to switch off their lights on Saturday, March 19, from 8.30pm.
Also on the bill, was local MSP Murdo Fraser who discussed his book The Rivals the true story of the 17th Century Scottish Civil War and the personal fight between James Graham, First Marquis of Montrose, and Archibald Campbell, 8th Marquis of Argyll.
Mr Fraser said: “Last year I fulfilled a lifetime ambition by releasing my first book on Scottish history, The Rivals, and I can now achieve another long-standing goal by appearing at Pitlochry’s Winter Words Festival.
“The line-up at this year’s festival is impressive and it is a real honour to appear alongside the great and the good of Scottish literature.”
He added: “Completing The Rivals alongside my role as an MSP was a long but worthwhile process as I believe this is a period of Scottish history that is in real need of further exposure and study.”
The festival continues today with talks from Little Sparta Trust chairman Magnus Linklater and historian Gregor Ewing, who will be recounting his adventures following in the footsteps of Robert The Bruce.
Tonight also sees the return of the highly popular Banff Mountain Film Festival, featuring a selection of extraordinary short films.
The mini features include footage of treacherous travels across Patagonia, Alaska and America’s vanishing wilderness.
Organisers said tickets for the film festival have already sold out.
