The incident in a ground-floor flat in Bute Drive was reported just before 9am by a neighbour who spotted smoke billowing from the window. Two fire and rescue units attended and used breathing apparatus and a CO2 extinguisher to deal with the fire. The pot and small dog which was unharmed were then taken from the empty flat.
