Former Olympic champion and world record holder Chris Boardman is returning to take part in this year’s Etape Caledonia.
Chris, who won gold at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, launched Boardman Bikes in 2007 and they will be an official partner of this year’s Marie Curie Etape Caledonia, which sets off from Pitlochry on May 8.
Boardman, who also took part in 2014, said: “The Marie Curie Etape Caledonia boasts some of the most spectacular scenery in the UK, guaranteed, and it can all be enjoyed on fully closed roads.
“Combined with the warm and friendly hostelries of Pitlochry, it’s a unique and wonderful weekend for all the family.”
All general entry and pledge places for the event have now sold out. However, participants can still be one of the 5,000 cyclists to take part by joining the exclusive ‘Marie Curie 400 Club’ by pledging to raise £400 for Marie Curie and paying £30 for entry into the event.
Entrants should visit www.etapecaledonia.co.uk to secure their place at the start line for the event which takes place on Sunday, May 8.
