Victorian Blair Atholl bracelet to sparkle at auction
ByThe Courier Reporter
A bangle inscribed with a version of the name of a Perthshire village is to go under the hammer in London.
The diamond-encrusted piece is expected to fetch up to £1,200 in the sale at Bonham’s Knightsbridge saleroom.
The bangle dates from the 19th century and is of a tapering design. It features a large oval cabochon coral set in a star-shaped surround made up of royal blue enamel and rose-cut diamonds.
Intriguingly, the bangle is engraved inside with the words “Blair Athole”.
The piece will feature as one of the lots in a sale of jewellery at the auction house on April 10.
