Perth-bound train smashes windscreen after collision with tree

The windscreen of ScotRail train bound for Perth was damaged as it hit a tree near Slochd around 7.30am.
Nobody was injured in the incident.
However, passengers on the 6.50 Inverness to Edinburgh train had to disembark but were able to continue thier journeys on the Inverness to King’s Cross train a short time later.
The line was closed until around 08:40 when it re-opened with a speed restriction in place.
A ScotRail spokeswoman said: “At around 07:30 this morning, ScotRail’s 06:50 Inverness to Edinburgh service struck a tree on the line near Slochd.
“No passengers were injured, and the driver was unharmed but understandably shaken.”
