A Perthshire catering company is celebrating winning a top award in what has been a memorable year.
Wilde Thyme Ltd, which is based at Cultybraggan, near Comrie, won the Event Caterer of the Year category at the UK Event Awards 2013 at a gala dinner in London.
Andrew Hamer, managing director and former executive chef at Gleneagles, said: “Winning the award is a great achievement for a small company based in rural Perthshire, beating competition from London caterers, and an endorsement of the innovative menus we create using fantastic Scottish produce.
“2013 has been a busy and exciting year for us all at Wilde Thyme. As well as working in some great new venues all over Scotland, including Glamis Castle, we have catered for some fantastic events at the National Museum of Scotland for up to 1,000 guests, including the recent 100th anniversary celebrations for Edinburgh Zoo.
“The team are already looking forward to 2014 with the Commonwealth Games and the Ryder Cup coming to Scotland,” he added.
Wilde Thyme was also named Best Caterer at the Scottish Event Awards ceremony in September 2012. The company was established as a luxury caterer in 2003 and became exclusive caterer for Glamis Castle in January.
