A Portuguese man accused of staring at a woman in a witness room at Perth Sheriff Court will stand trial on February 28.
On Monday, the court heard that Jeronimo Bouceiro, 41, of Main Street, Kinross, faces the possibility of taking part in an identification procedure called Viper capture, which uses video and photographs.
He denies a charge that, having been granted bail at Perth Sheriff Court on May 15 last year, on condition that he didn’t enter Perth or contact Gillian Farnington, c/o Police Scotland, he entered a witness room within Perth Sheriff Court on January 3 and stared at her, then left the room, returned and stared at her again. The court heard that Bouceiro had lodged a High Court bail appeal against the condition but this was dismissed.
An intermediate diet was fixed for February 20. Sheriff Jack Brown also agreed to a procedural hearing on December 10 to deal with the conditions of Bouceiro’s bail.
