A 57-year-old man has appeared in court charged with robbing a Perth newsagent of £1,000 after threatening a shop worker with a knife.
William Davidson, Logie Crescent, Perth, appeared on petition at the city’s sheriff court on Monday. He is accused of robbing McColl’s Newsagents on Rannoch Road on October 26.
It is alleged that Davidson assaulted an employee there, demanded money from him, pressed a knife against his body and then threatened to stab him, before robbing him of £1,000.
Davidson made no plea or declaration and the case was continued for further examination. He was released on bail with the special conditions not to enter Rannoch Road.
