Roadworks, which will last five nights, will begin on Sunday on the A9 Perth to Dunblane road near Auchterarder.
The resurfacing, costing £328,000, will take place on the northbound stretch of the road, starting at 7.30pm and lasting until 6.30am on Monday, with the same timescale involved up to Thursday.
A convoy traffic system will take place during the overnight work as a result of the roadworks.
Consultations with local residents and stakeholders have taken place in advance of the resurfacing work to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.
A spokesman for BEAR Scotland said: “The resurfacing improvements are the latest investment to this stretch of the A9, and follow on from a £200,000 project to develop pedestrian access at Gleneagles which began last month and are currently progressing well.”
And Andy Thompson, BEAR Scotland’s north-east representative, commented: “These resurfacing improvements will address any defects in the road, improving the general condition and safety of the road for motorists.
“We’ve taken steps to minimise disruption by scheduling the improvements to take place overnight and avoid working over Friday and Saturday nights. However, we encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance and allow some extra time.”
The announcement follows on from scheduled work set to start on Sunday April 24 on the A85 Crieff Road, near Perth.
