Police are hunting thieves who snatched a scarecrow from its post near a popular Perthshire fish pond.
The mannequin, which was wearing a black hat and blue boiler suit, was uprooted from the water’s edge at Stonefield, Ochtertyre, near Crieff.
Investigators said the dummy had been securely fastened to its position and could not have simply fallen down in high winds. Several other scarecrows guarding the pond were untouched.
The area was described as a popular walking route.
The thieves struck sometime between midday on November 3 and 9am on Friday.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.
