The sale of modern and vintage sporting guns held in Gleneagles Hotel realised more than £250,000.
Auctioneer Gavin Gardiner, who conducted the sale, was delighted with the level of interest in the lots.
“The sale was well viewed and attended, and attracted bidding interest from around the world,” said Mr Gardiner, who runs the annual event in association with Sotheby’s.
Top prices included the £17,150 paid by a UK trade buyer for a 1937 J Purdey & Sons 12-bore self-opening sidelock ejector gun, exceeding the pre-sale estimate of £12,000 to £15,000.
The same price was paid by a European private buyer for a scarce Belgian 12-bore Superbritte side-opening over and under gun, which was estimated to sell for £14,000 to £18,000.
Private buyers from the USA were among the top bidders on the day
