Gleneagles train station to get improvements for Ryder Cup
ByThe Courier Reporter
Certain train stations are to share around £5 million to allow them to make improvements in time for the Ryder Cup and Commonwealth Games next year.
The Scottish Government programme will see £5.27 million spent upgrading facilities such as car parks, cycle shelters, toilets, ticket machines and waiting rooms at 56 stations.
Gleneagles Station’s buildings, platforms, toilets and waiting rooms will be refurbished because of the Ryder Cup taking place at the town’s golf course next year.
Several train stations will also be refurbished in Glasgow before it hosts the Commonwealth Games.
