Residents in Perth and Kinross are being asked to help shape their local health and social care services.
The Joining the Conversation initiative is to be rolled out to communities to meet an expected increase in demand due to a predicted population rise in the region.
As a result, adult health and social care services are being integrated in Perth and Kinross.
This will result in NHS Tayside staff and council social care staff working closely together to deliver sustainable care and services.
Yesterday John Gilruth, Perth and Kinross Council’s depute director of housing and community care, said: “We all need extra care and support at some time in our lives.
“That’s why everyone’s views matter when it comes to shaping a new, more joined-up way of delivering care and support.
“The conversation events being held across Perth and Kinross will give people a real chance to get involved in designing services that suit the particular needs of their communities.
“Maybe people have experience of using services and know what works best for them, or maybe they would like to share their ideas about how they think services in their community would work better for local people.”
He continued: “Perhaps people are part of a community group that could get involved in providing local services in partnership with the council and NHS Tayside, or maybe they just want to find out more about health and social care integration.”
Evelyn Devine, lead officer for the Perth and Kinross community health partnership, said: “Health and social care integration is very much about what works for each individual person, and services will be tailored to suit their individual needs.
“That’s why it’s very important that we work closely with people and groups across Perth and Kinross to find out what kind of services they think are needed in their communities.
“The conversation events will give people the opportunity and the space to shape future services in a very hands-on way.
