A group of wounded servicemen and women took on Perthshire’s challenging Cateran Trail over the past few days.
The 33-strong party completed the 64-mile marked walk on Thursday, the fourth day of a visit organised by the charity the Not Forgotten Association which provides entertainment, leisure and recreation for serving and ex-service personnel coping with trauma or injury.
The focus of the trip was on developing confidence and self-esteem.
The group walked a section of the trail each day then returned to Gulabin Lodge in the evening.
The walk was led by WO2 Dave Officer of the Royal Marines, and Councillor Bob Ellis, chairman of Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust, who are responsible for the management of the Cateran Trail.
Mr Ellis, an ex-serviceman himself, said: “The Not Forgotten Association provided something really special for this inspiring group of people this week.
“They have given them comradeship and a sense of belonging and that can be a key factor in the healing process.
“The stunning views along the trail in wonderful autumn sunshine have fairly lifted spirits too.”
