A teenage motorist has had a lucky escape after their car careered off the road in dreadful driving conditions.
The 19-year-old lost control as he drove towards Dundee, colliding with a lamppost before plunging into a field.
Police Scotland said he had escaped injury, despite the dramatic nature of the accident.
The incident is causing significant disruption on the eastbound carriageway of the A90 as recovery works are undertaken.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “The young man was driving a white Peugeot car when it left the road about half a mile east of Longforgan at around 11.45am.
“One lane has been closed while his vehicle is recovered.
“He had a lucky escape.”
