Parking proved to be problematic for a Perthshire woman when she shunted her neighbour’s car more than two feet.
As she performed a tricky reversing manoeuvre in a Land Rover, Alison McOmish rammed the smaller vehicle.
Despite leaving the Vauxhall Corsa badly scratched, the 51-year-old denied striking it and ignored the protestations of the owner before disappearing into her home on Crieff’s Kincardine Road.
Perth Sheriff Court heard police were called to the scene and made repeated attempts to talk to McOmish.
Depute fiscal John Malpass said: “She refused to open the door and, consequently, the officers were there for some 20 minutes trying to get into the accused’s house.”
The officers were aware that someone was in the house but not answering.
Solicitor Mark Alder told the court the vehicle his client had been driving was so large that she didn’t feel the impact.
He added: “It was not a deliberate attempt to escape the situation. Given she is a neighbour of the owner involved, it would have been fairly easy for her to be found.”
McOmish admitted that on February 8, at Kincardine Road in Crieff, she failed to provide her name and address after being involved in a crash.
She was fined £190 and her licence was endorsed with five penalty points.
