Talented singers and dancers in Blairgowrie and Rattray came together in the town on Saturday to entertain residents and visitors to the town on their way from Braemar Games.
The rain stayed away although it got a little cooler towards the evening.
After an official opening by Len Seal, chairman of the Relay for Life fundraising event held in the town every two years, events in the Wellmeadow were well supported throughout the afternoon.
In the evening many hundreds in and around the Wellmeadow welcomed the march of the massed pipes and drums which was again the highlight of the entertainment.
The bands were led on a march from the British Legion Clubrooms in George Street to the Wellmeadow where they played several sets. The parade was led by Drum Major Sandy Tannahill, of Coupar Angus Pipe Band.
Also in the march were pipe bands from Alyth led by Pipe Major Gordon Barton, Blairgowrie, Rattray and District led by Pipe Major Davie Miller, and Coupar Angus led by Pipe Major Kevin Douglas.
Blairgowrie and Rattray Drum Corps, led by Drum Major Tom McDonald, also played during the afternoon.
Also in the afternoon, stalls inside the Wellmeadow included a bouncy castle, face-painting, and other attractions, with a variety of entertainment by singers and dancers.
The evening closed with a spectacular fireworks display masterminded by John Kettles, of Blast Design. The lone piper was Piper Willie Townsley.
Results from the games will appear in Tuesday’s Courier.
