A man has appeared in court accused of demolishing a shopfront with a stolen car.
Shaun Hughes faced six charges when he appeared before Sheriff Fiona Tait at Perth on Monday.
The 27-year-old is alleged to have taken a set of car keys from the Green Hotel, Kinross, on Saturday.
He is also said to have taken a Ford Focus Ghia from the same location on the same date without the owner’s knowledge or consent and without lawful authority.
Hughes, of Merridale Street, Wolverhampton, also denies driving the car dangerously on Kinross High Street, and other roads, causing him to lose control.
The car is said to have left the road, mounted the pavement and struck a building, removing the front wall of the Ballies newsagents premises, before damaging another property.
Hughes is accused of driving without a licence or insurance.
A sixth charge, which is also denied, alleges that, on the same date at Perth police station, he had in his possession the class B drug cannabis.
Hughes will appear again before the court in March, ahead of a trial in April.
