A Methven schoolboy has won the chance to walk out at Hampden Park with the Scotland football team ahead of their World Cup qualifier with Croatia next week.
Jack Geekie, 10, entered a competition run by McDonald’s. As a McDonald’s player escort, he will walk out with the likes of Charlie Adam, Steven Naismith and Robert Snodgrass on Tuesday October 15, as the team look to secure a win to finish the campaign with a win and build on recent good performances.
“I can’t wait to walk out on to the pitch and see the stadium,“ he said. “I’m really looking forward to meeting the players.”
McDonald’s and The Scottish FA have been community partners since 2002.
Kenny Dalglish, McDonald’s head of Scottish football, said: “The McDonald’s community programme is about providing opportunities for people to get involved in grassroots football and to give youngsters footballing experiences they will never forget.
“I hope all the player escorts enjoy every second of walking out on to the pitch at Hampden Park and have a great night cheering on the team.”
