Police searching for missing Pitlochry woman find body

Police searching for a missing Pitlochry woman have found a body.

Police Scotland had appealed for information to help trace 40-year-old Claire Roy, who had been reported missing from her home in the area on Friday evening.

After an earlier appeal for witnesses, officers confirmed later on Saturday that a body had been found near to the River Tunnel.

A spokesman said: “The body is still to be formally identified, but Claire’s next of kin have been made aware.

“Police would like to thank everyone who assisted with the search.”
