Talent firm’s fury casts doubt on Perth’s Winter Festival after Peter Andre controversy
ByJamie Buchan
Furious talent agents are refusing to provide celebrity bookings to Perth and Kinross Council, after it was forced to reveal how much was spent on Peter Andre’s Christmas show.
At least one firm, understood to represent some of the country’s best known acts, has told the local authority it will no longer offer its stars for future shows.
Agencies are angry that the council was ordered to reveal it spent £20,000 of taxpayer cash on the Mysterious Girl singer’s appearance at last November’s Christmas lights switch-on.
A series of e-mails released to The Courier reveals a major falling-out between the council and celebrity reps.
The row could jeopardise bookings for this year’s winter festivities.
Details of the council’s Christmas plans are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
