Five people walked free from court after being found not guilty of involvement in a lochside incident while camping in Perthshire last summer.
The group, all from Edinburgh, had pleaded not guilty to a number of charges.
Alex Deighan, 33, of Gracemount Avenue, and Jonathan Sandieland, 28, of Linden Avenue, denied firing an air pistol, causing a pellet to strike two other people, possessing a knife, and threatening and abusive behaviour.
Erin Colmer, 24, of Gracemouth Avenue, and Marie Colvin, 25, of Linden Avenue, denied throwing stones, and Brian Deighan, 31, of Burdiehouse Street, Colmer, also denied threatening and abusive behaviour.
During a two-day trial at Stirling Sheriff Court it was alleged a group of campers had been “running about crazy” trying to gather their things as “a gun was being shot” at their group, in a “scene like Crimewatch” at Loch Lubnaig in Perthshire.
The incident happened after two groups of campers allegedly argued with each other over a smashed car window at the loch near Callander in the Trossachs.
The groups, one from Edinburgh and one from the Falkirk area, were staying at the loch on June 9.
Giving evidence, Alex Deighan said: “Maybe they mistook my barbecue tongs for a gun.”
Sheriff Wyllie Robertson noted it was “strange” none of the group allegedly fired on had called the police.
