Perth set for huge economic boost as “Corbyn-mania” comes to the Fair City
ByPaul Reoch
The city of Perth looks set to receive a much needed economic injection with the visit of left-wing firebrand politician Jeremy Corbyn at the end of the month.
The recently elected leader of the UK Labour Party has stirred widespread interest in politics to such an extent that his speech to the Scottish Labour Party in Perth Concert Hall is guaranteed to be a sell-out.
Corbyn has caused controversy with his views on Trident submarines, royalty and his plan to re-nationalise the railways but he has also caught the imagination of a substantial percentage of the electorate.
As a result, his visit to Perth on October 30 is being hailed as a money-spinner for the city due to the economic benefits it will bring to hotels, B&Bs, restaurants, pubs and shops.
