The drama of Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance’s (SCAA) life-saving missions has been captured on film.
For several days this autumn it was “lights, camera, action” at Perth Airport as staff and crew of the country’s only charity-funded helicopter air ambulance were filmed by Perthshire-based film production company Speakeasy.
Narrated by Scottish presenter Jenni Falconer and using reconstructions and casualty interviews, the eight and a half minute production captures all the action and emotion attached to the day-to-day lives of those involved with the charity.
The frontline emergency response helicopter charity was chosen by Speakeasy’s Stanley HQ workforce to receive the gift of a full production promotional video to mark the film company’s 20th anniversary.
Speakeasy managing director Jonathan Young said: “SCAA provides an absolutely vital service, and it was a privilege to work with them to produce a film that will help them attract the donations they need to save even more lives in the remotest areas of Scotland.”
SCAA chief executive Gavin Davey said: “Speakeasy has brilliantly depicted what SCAA does every day saving lives, reducing pain and moving patients to hospital rapidly.
“This promotional film by one of the leading film production companies in the country will allow us to spread our publicity and fundraising operations across Scotland to match our flying footprint. It will take the story of our charity to a much wider audience and play a key role in attracting funds to keep us in the air.”
