A Perth man has denied breaking into the city’s police station, stealing a set of keys and fleeing in a marked car.
David Mullen is alleged to have carried out the theft on October 1 last year, before leading officers on a high speed chase.
He has denied a catalogue of allegations, including failing to stop for a police officer, driving recklessly through a barrier, and driving without insurance and a licence.
He also denies that on October 1 at Perth Police Station, Charlotte Street, the A94, A923 Coupar Angus to Blairgowrie road, various roads in Blairgowrie and Rattray and the A929 Rattray to New Alyth road, he drove dangerously and on the opposite carriageway, collided with a police vehicle, carried out overtaking manoeuvres on blind corners and in the face of oncoming traffic, drove in excess of the speed limit and failed to stop until the vehicle was brought to a halt using a containment device.
The 27-year-old, who is described as a prisoner at HMP Perth, will face trial later this year.
He will appear for a first diet at Perth Sheriff Court on January 15.
