Man taken to hospital after accident on A9 in Perthshire

A man has been taken to hospital following a collision between a car and a jeep on the A9 Perth to Stirling road.
The incident took place around 9.40am on the northbound carriageway near the junction to Dunning, and involved a black Volkswagen Polo and a 4X4 vehicle towing a horsebox, which ended up in a field.
The incident led to the northbound road being closed, with lengthy delays for motorists.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland’s Tayside Division confirmed it had been a two-vehicle collision and that a man, believed to be aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital.
She said his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Scottish Fire and Rescue sent two appliances from Perth, a heavy rescue unit and one appliance from Auchterarder to the scene.
A spokesperson for the fire service said one casualty was released from the 4X4 and that the man in the Polo car was taken to hospital by ambulance.
She confirmed that no animal had been involved in the incident.
The northbound carriageway of the road re-opened around 11.15am.
