A biker who was clocked overtaking his friends at 130mph on the A93 Blairgowrie to Braemar road at Glenshee has been banned from driving.
Subsea technician Lewis Calderbank was caught driving his motorcycle at more than twice the speed limit on a notorious stretch of road where there have been a number of fatalities.
Police officers set up a roadside speed trap and caught Calderbank pulling away from a number of other bikers as his speed shot up to 130mph.
Depute fiscal Bill Kermode told Perth Sheriff Court that the road where Calderbank was caught speeding was a notoriously dangerous one on which a number of accidents had taken place.
He also said it was well known that sheep grazed along the side of the road and could pose a danger to any motorist travelling at speed on the A93.
Lewis Calderbank, 21, of Boswell Road, Portlethen, admitted driving at 130mph on the A93 Blairgowrie to Braemar road at Glenshee on September 6.
Calderbank was riding Honda CBR 1000 RR4, which has a top speed of 186mph, at the time of the incident.
He was banned from driving for eight months and fined £450.
