Security van driver flown to hospital after crash on A9 near Blair Atholl

A woman has been charged after a van driver was injured in an accident on the A9 near Blair Atholl.
The accident on a single-carriageway stretch happened shortly after 11am and involved a G4S security van and a car.
Scotland’s charity air ambulance flew the van driver to Ninewells Hospital. It is understood his injuries are not life threatening.
Fire crews from Dunkeld and Pitlochry were also called to the scene.
A police spokesman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 74-year-old woman has been charged following a road traffic collision involving a Peugeot car and a Mercedes Sprinter van on the A9 near Blair Atholl this morning.
“A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
The road was closed in both directions but reopened shortly before 1.30pm.
