A last minute rush to comment on T in the Park proposals crashed a council website and set the process back a day.
Perth and Kinross Council were forced to extend the consultation deadline on DF Concerts’ plans for Strathallan due to “high numbers” of people accessing their planning portal.
The cut-off point has now been extended by 24 hours and will close at midnight.
Meanwhile, RSPB Scotland has demanded a 500-metre buffer zone to safeguard ospreys at T in the Park’s proposed Perthshire showground.
The bird welfare charity said yesterday it will not object to the festival’s highly contentious Strathallan Castle bid, as long as promoters DF Concerts agree to comply with strict criteria to minimise disruption for protected birds of prey at the site.
By the time of the festival in July, the zone would be halved to 820ft (250m).
RSPB Scotland director Stuart Housden said last night: “It is unfortunate that issues are still not fully resolved at T in the Park at this very late stage.”
A T in the Park spokeswoman said last night: “Throughout the consultation process, we have maintained almost daily contact with the RSPB and we look forward to continuing work with them.”
Meanwhile VisitScotland boss Mike Cantlay praised T in the Park, saying it was vital for Scots tourism.
He added he was sure Perth and Kinross Council “will be doing everything they can to support the event”.
