81-year-old named as victim of road accident near Auchterarder

An elderly man who died in an early-morning crash in Perthshire on Wednesday has been named by police.

Robert Scott, who was 81 and from Auchterarder, suffered fatal injuries when his vehicle left the unclassified road between Dunning and Auchterarder at about 8.20am.

A police spokesman said: “Mr Scott’s family are understandably upset by their sudden loss and have said that he will be greatly missed.”

The spokesman said inquiries are continuing and appealed for any witnesses to phone 101.

A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
