Perth solicitors have raised fears over the hazardous state of a derelict city centre property.
The former Clachan bar on South Methven Street has been earmarked for demolition.
Perth-based Zack Developments want to replace the three-storey building with eight new flats, a restaurant and pub.
Planning permission for the project was secured in 2007 and extended in 2012.
The company has now applied for even more time to progress its plans, after consent for the work expired in January.
Now estate agents McCash and Hunter, based across the street from the building, has written to Perth and Kinross Council warning that another time extension could pose a further risk to the public.
In his letter to planners, company partner Paul Trodden said: “Since late 2015, the property has been cordoned off and warning notices stating the building is ‘dangerous’ have been posted to the front of the building.
“If the building is indeed in a dangerous condition, then surely steps must be taken to have this demolished immediately to prevent any danger to the public.”
He said an extension of the timescale could lead to the building lying untouched.
No one from Zack Developments was available for comment.
The property, at numbers 10 to 12, is on Scotland’s Buildings at Risk register. A dangerous building notice was served after masonry fell from an upper floor in 2013.
In October, a neighbouring caf was evacuated and part of the street was closed off when stonework at the rear of the property came crashing to the ground.
