The head chef at a Perthshire butcher has scooped a major culinary award.
Malcolm Warham, of Simon Howie Foods, was awarded a gold medal at the Scottish Culinary Championships.
The event involved cooking a three-course French-inspired meal from scratch in front of a live audience in one and a half hours.
Malcolm, who was presented with the award at a dinner at Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow, has worked with Simon Howie Foods for more than 15 years. He said he was delighted to be awarded the first prize.
“I haven’t competed professionally for a number of years, so I am honoured to win the gold medal,” he said. “All entrants were over the age of 40, so I was up against chefs with many years’ professional experience.”
