A dog missing in Perthshire for more than a week has been reunited with its owners. Golden retriever Holly was lost in the woods at Trochry near Dunkeld on November 3, while her owners were on holiday in the area. Volunteers spent hours searching the area every day, scouring the woods and the surrounding areas for the dog. However, Holly was returned to a delighted Dorothy Reid and Sandra Carroll after turning up on a doorstep. Dorothy said: “We were out looking for her this morning and we’d just got to the top of an enormous hill when at about 9.30am the phone rang. “It was a man at the other end of little Glenshee who we’d spoken to earlier and left our numbers with. “Holly had been on his front doorstep, howling. Originally he thought it was an owl but then he realised it was an animal.” Dorothy added that Holly seemed to be in relatively good shape despite her ordeal. She said: “She’s very thin and her legs are a bit sore and she’s very sleepy, but other than that she seems to be the old Holly.” The couple thanked all those who had helped look for their pet.
